Should you stick to one cosmetics brand, or use several?

The beauty industry is filled with hundreds and hundreds of different cosmetic brands and products that all vow to provide you with miracle treatments and cures. But who really are the best in the business? When the cost of your beauty treatments doesn’t necessarily equate to the best product ,and natural remedies are becoming increasingly popular, is it wise to remain loyal to one brand or spread your wings with something different? This article provides the answers:

Should you stick to your favourite cosmetics brand?

At the end of the day the question of whether you should stick to one cosmetics brand or choose another is down to the results you achieve. If you’re having success with one particular brand then there’s no point switching, unless the products are too expensive, or you feel like trying something new. If something isn’t working for your skin then there’s no need to feel any sense of loyalty to any particular brand, unless you’re an heiress to Mac or work on the Rimmel concession in John Lewis.

Listen to recommendations

While every beauty and cosmetics brand claims to be the best industry, there can only be one winner and it’s the brand that works for you. You’ll often find that most of the ingredients of your cosmetics are reasonably similar and the more expensive the product, you’re probably also paying for the brand. It’s always a good idea to listen to recommendations from friends and family as you’re much more likely to get an honest opinion rather than some crafted sales jargon. Additionally, if you’re interested in a product that your friend owns, it also creates the opportunity to test it out before purchase.

Test out the results

Beauty is a results driven business, and if one brand is making you look like one of Cinderella’s ugly sisters then you should drop it and move on to the next. Why not try out a few new brands over the course of a couple months and see which ones work best for you and your skin. There’s no harm returning to the brand you’ve been loyal to for many years, but you have to test the waters every now and again and try something new.

Do what you feel comfortable with

At the end of the day, as long as you feel comfortable in your own skin then who cares what cosmetic brands you’re wearing as long as you’re feeling good wearing it. Whenever you’re choosing make-up, skincare products or any product related to your beauty regime, don’t buy it because your friends are buying it or it’s what the magazines say you should buy. Buy it because you genuinely like it and it feels right.
